what will happen by the release of this new version? Should we wait until 12.1 RU2?!

its becuase of the DB schema we were not allowed to upgrade from SEP 11 Ru 7 to SEP 12.1, with SEP 11 RU7 Mp1 out we should be able to upgrade to SEP 12.1 Ru 1( whatever it's called the nest versio of SEP 12.1).

And have heard that it will be out in coming month/s.

Yes, I believe SEP 12.1 RU1 is scheduled for Nov'11.

Any indications on fixes/changes in RU1 other than upgrades supported from RU7? Just wondering if I should stop my own 12.1 rollout or not and wait.

did you encounter any issue with current rollout?

if not, you may go ahead with rollout.

the fixes will be introduced once released but yes there are some known issue in 12.1 which are possibly fixed in mp1

Some known issues are reported in SEP 12.1,

Getting IPS error in the client management.

 While  copying\moving user documents to another system\drive,SEP is blocking some file( mostly .exe extension) & gives warning message so that the backup process is interuppted.

what is the error message? can you post the screen shot?

Client is SEP12.1 & no custom IPS signature had applied

if no custom IPS signatures, then there should be new policy been applied after certain time, can you copy all the entries from log

That is correct, just please bear in mind that postings to fileconnect generally occur in the afternoon, US PACIFIC TIME.  So for some, it may not be available until the 19th.

I was going through the release notes but could not find any output on Cisco VPN Connectivity Issue. I has some discussion with Technical Support guys, they said the FIX will be there in next update.

Lets wait for another two days.

I have a request, and maybe this is the wrong place to put it, but if so let me know and I will put it where it needs to go. Also, if this already exists, then please point me to where it is.

I don't know who thought it was a good idea to go from the way release notes were handled in 11.x to the way they are done in 12.x, but this new way stinks as far as I am concerned. Instead of releasing PDF files and DOCX files, which are harder to find and go through than the old way, I would like to see Symantec put up a web page with release notes/defect fix descrptions, etc., as was done with 11.x

Just downloaded SEP 12.1 RU1 from FileConnect

Was having issues with 12.1 to connect to a Linux server, But it works great with 12.1 RU 1

I'm still not seeing RU1 on file connect. I see 12.1 from June. Any ideas why?

in my file connect it is showing 12.1 RU1 part 1 and part 2 exe? what is that means? i do know which one to download?

part1 is exe and the part 2 is tools and documents.

So Which one i need to download? Part 1 is OK?

yep, part 1 for upgrade/install. However documents are also important :-)

Download both and run each exe. It will extract the contents.
