  • 1.  SEP 12.1 RU2 Automatic Liveupdate Schedule issue

    Hi Everyone,

    In our environment, we have a combination of multiple OS such as Win 7, Win 2003, Windows 2008 etc. We have LUA configured for endpoints to download definitions. For policy update they are in pull mode. What the issue is, there are random computers which fails to download definition automatically & in event viewer there is no sign of LU being run nor in lue log. However when we click "Liveupdate" icon in SEP GUI, Liveupdate is running & downloading definition successfully. I know upgrading SEP to later versions like 12.1 RU4 MP1b / RU5 may fix. However I wanted to know if there are any solution for this / if this is a known issue with Symantec. If Yes, is there a document? Also, is there someone who is / was experiencing this issue?

    So essentially it fails when trying to download from SEPM but can get updates from Symantec LU?

    @.Brian - We have configured to download from LUA. The probelm is not from where it downloads. Automatic Liveupdate schedule is not being initiated. If I hit LU button on SEP GUI then it is able to download definition

    Perhaps the below article might shed some light on this?

    Symantec Endpoint Protection 12.1 clients do not run LiveUpdate when scheduled

    It seems to suggest creating a Windows Scheduled Task to run sepliveupdate.exe surprise
