    Hi,

    Can anyone please suggest me what to do after the client has rebooted thei Windows 7, they are having this problem ?

    it affects random user in Windows XP as well

    Use intelligent Updater to update the Virus Definitions.

    To download an Intelligent Updater file

    1. Using your Web browser, go to one of the following sites:

      http://www.symantec.com/business/security_response/definitions/download/detail.jsp?gid=savce

      ftp://ftp.symantec.com/AVDEFS/symantec_antivirus_corp/

    2. On the Web site or on the FTP site, click the appropriate product file with the .exe extension.

    3. When you are prompted for a location in which to save the file, select a folder on your hard drive.

    4. Distribute the file to the client computers using your preferred distribution method.

    To install the virus and security risk definitions files on a client computer

    1. On the client computer, locate the Intelligent Updater file that was distributed to the client.

    2. Double-click the .exe file and follow the on-screen instructions.

    why not include the latest definition in the client package and install.

    Hello,

    It seems that the client is not receiving the definitions from the SEPM and the old definitions on all components are remaining.

    What happens when you try Running a Repair of this SEP client from Add / Remove Programs.

    Secondly, try Running the Intelligent updater on these machines which would atleast make sure the machines carry the Latest AV/AS definitions.

    OR

    Follow this Article to clear the corrupt definitions on SEP 12.1

    Hm.. I never knew if that is possible to include the latest VirusDef by manually drag n dropping the def files into the installation directory.

    isthat possible in 12.1 RU2 ?

    from the updated client go to c:\program files \comman files\symantec shared\virus defs

    you will see a dated folder which has the latest definitions, copy the contents of that folder; it will be like 201104003

    create a folder called incoming on the machine u want to update the defs

    c:\program files \comman files\symantec shared\virus defs\incoming

    paste the contents of  201104003 folder inside incoming folder

    wait for a min it should be udpated
