  • 1.  SEP 12.1 RU2 MP1 Migration Path

    Hi,

    Can I migrate any lower version of SEP to the latest version SEP 12.1 RU2 MP1? Thanks.

    ***The latest version is 12.1 RU2 MP1***

    But if you still want to go to 12.1 RU1 MP1 than no, you need to go to 12.1 RU1 first. Than you can go to 12.1 RU1 MP1.

    If you want to go to 12.1 RU2 MP1 than you first need to upgrade to 12.1 RU2 per this KB:

    Hi Brian,

    What I mean is from lower version to the latest version SEP 12.1 RU2 MP1. For Example I have SEP 11, can I upgrade it to SEP 12.1 RU2 MP1? I remember on SEP 12.1 RU2, migration from SEP 11 to the latest has no issue. Does the latest version now has the same migration features of SEP 12.1 RU2? Thanks.

    You need to go to 12.1 RU2 first than go to 12.1 RU2 MP1, even from 11.x

    An RU is a full release update. An MP is only a maintenance patch.

    Please follow the above comments.

    If you are using 12.1RU2 then you can directly go for latest version which is sep 12.1RU2 MP1.

    and if you are usng any older version then upgrade it first 12.1 RU2 and then you may able to upgrade it .

    Hi,

    Migration directly from any version except 12.1 RU2 is unsupported; however fresh installs work
    just fine.

    Hello,

    It is important to understand that SEP 12.1 RU2 MP1 is a maintainance patch and could be applied only over SEP 12.1 RU2.

    Upgrading or migrating to Symantec Endpoint Protection 12.1.2100 (RU2 MP1)

    Migration paths

    Symantec Endpoint Protection 12.1.2100.2093 (RU2 MP1) can migrate seamlessly over the following:

    Symantec Endpoint Protection 12.1.2015.2015 (RU2)

    In other words, the Migration path would be:

    Older version than SEP 12.1 RU2 >> SEP 12.1 RU2 >> SEP 12.1 RU2 MP1
