Endpoint Protection

Like the title says - I installed this the other day and it started to hang on the live update. The live update gets down to "Downloading update package (1 of 1), 0% complete" and hangs. It blinks on this and sometimes flashes a fail. I only have an option to cancel. 

I have done a repair, a remove and reinstall and every time it either hangs on update package 1 or 2 or 3.. This time it's update 1. 

I have no clue whats going on but help would be appreciated.

Can you post the log.lue file?

On Windows XP and Windows server 2003:
C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Symantec\Symantec Endpoint Protection\<silo_id>\Data\Lue\Logs

On Windows Vista, Windows 7, and Windows Server 2008:
C:\Program Data\Symantec\Symantec Endpoint Protection\<silo_id>\Data\Lue\Logs

This is going out to Symantec LU, not via the SEPM correct?

What OS is this on?

I get into C:\Program Data\Symantec\Symantec Endpoint Protection\ and then im assuming the "<silo_ID> is my 12.1.xxxxxx number

after that there is no Data file. Maybe im in the wrong place?

I'm running Win7 Pro

The issue is occuring during LU.

Is there a log.lue file?

No log files - inside the SEP folder is -

Folder 12.1.5337.5000.105

and the applications: AutoExcl, Checksum, DoScan, SepLiveUpdate, Smc

Inside the 12.1.5xxxx folder is:

 Folder: Bin, Bin64, Config, Res, Scripts, SmcLu, Temp

and then an isolate and License file. 

File path is C:\Program Files (x86)\Symantec\Symantec Endpoint Protection\      and then choose above folder paths.. 

For me there was no Program Data file off of C:\

Can you search for a log.liveupdate file

I searched C:\ - no file

I removed and then reinstalled SEP. As I started to DL updates it hung up again. Upon bringind up hte GUI for SEP i clicked on the 'View Logs' area. Under 'Virus and Spyware Protection Logs' in the System log it registers as "Definiteion Downloader" - DL of virus definition file from LiveUpdate server failed. 

yay.

Also, when I click the liveupdate button it tells me another instance of liveupdate is running and has been detected. 

somemthing is clearly wrong here 

Can't say I've seen this before, may want to engage support.
