  • 1.  SEP 12.1.2 client pointing to a SEP 12.1.1 SEPM?

Will there be any issues if I build some SEP 12.1 RU2 clients and point them back to my SEP 12.1 RU1 SEPM?

We need a month or so of testing of our RU2 SEPM before we roll it up to the production server. But in the mean time, I want to see how the RU2 clients work against the production SEPM.

So again...Will there be any issues if I build some SEP 12.1 RU2 clients and point them back to my SEP 12.1 RU1 SEPM?

    Thanks,

    -Mike

It's not ideal or even supported but I've done this in the past and it does work. I even got AV defs to pull down on the newer clients from the older SEPM.

But Symantec will tell you not to do this (obviously) but I've had it working.

These KB articles should explain somewhat

I believe the schema did change in RU2 so that would be where you would see issues. Functionality wise you probably won't see anything.
