Endpoint Protection

Since upgrading from SEP 12.1 to SEP 12.1.2 our third party backup software solution is unable to perform a complete backup because some of the SEP files are in use.

I am considering excluding these files from the backup job to ensure the backup is complete, however before I do this I would like confirmation from Symantec that this is safe to do and these files do not need to be included in the backup job.

These files are related to the SEP client. They should be safe to exclude.

"Thumbs Up" to the above.  I'm in agreement with Brian.  The files and processes appear to be for the client, and are therefore not critical as you can always just reinstall the SEP Client

Thanks, I agree I could just reinstall the client, therefore I will go ahead and exclude these files from the backup.

I would be keen to know what has changed from 12.1 to 12.1.2 to cause this change in behaviour.
