  • 1.  SEP 12.1.5 managed client installation rolling back

    Hello all , I am trying to install SEP 12.1.5 on few machines but the installation is rolling back , the setup runs and then nothing happens. Need to know what is causing this and need to fix this. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

    Need to the SEP_inst and sis_inst.log to determine what's up

    Basically its a windows 7 (32-Bit) machine I am attaching the log files for your reference please kindly tell me what is rolling it back.

    James is this a root certificate error  why the installation is rolling back? is this showing in the logs ?

    Previous SEP version we have received same error That's reason i have provided 2 different articles,But you can try to install latest root certificate.

     

    Windows Installer installed the product. Product Name: Symantec Endpoint Protection. Product Version: 12.1.5337.5000. Product Language: 1033. Manufacturer: Symantec Corporation. Installation success or error status: 1603.

    checked it its not the certifcate issue. Any other thing that might be causing this ?

    try to run cleanwipe tool then try to install sep client

    on majority of the machines its a fresh install and on others its an upgrade from RTM

    Not the old cert issue.

    How many machines are affected here? Getting some generic errors in the logs.

    around 30 -40 mostly 32 bit machines

    And you're using the correct package, 32bit for those machines, not 64?

    Try updating the cert on one machien, see if that fixes..

    Any Application and device control policy in place?

    It was a corrupt installation package that was causing the installation to rollback and not complete.
