    Dear all,

I would like to ask why the setup file size of 12.1.5 version is relatively small comparing to 12.1.4.

From the fileconnect download site, the file size of Mac, Win_Client32/64 setup file

    e,g. Symantec_Endpoint_Protection_12.1.4_Mac_Client_EN.xip is 272M.

    Symantec_Endpoint_Protection_12.1.5_Mac_Client_EN.zip is 28M.

This is new feature in SEPM 12.1.5.

In SEP 12.1.5 virus defination size less then other SEPM version.

To reduce hard disk space, Symantec Endpoint Protection Manager now stores only the most recent full set of virus definitions, plus the deltas for previous versions. Storing the deltas reduces delivery time and network bandwidth, and improves disk storage requirements on the management server by 65% to 80%

These are client only setup file with no definitions hence the file sizes are small

if you see the 12.1 RU1 they were of smaller size too

There are some modification in the version so the size is get reduce and remove unnecessory defintion packages

Incorrect client package size estimate in the Symantec Endpoint Protection Manager console

    Fix ID: 3493507

Symptom: When you export a client package in the Symantec Endpoint Protection Manager, the console displays a negative number or an incorrect number for the estimated minimum package size.

Solution: Fixed an issue where the manager miscalculated or counted duplicate LiveUpdate files in the software package object from the database

Our team noticed this as well. We also noticed that if the Mac client was quarantined in a network security posture assessment, the installation would hang trying to connect back to one or more IP addresses associated with Apple.com. If the Mac is completely disconnected (no net access), install will complete; but if access is filtered, it would hang until the appropriate IP addresses are allowed.

Does Symantec make an 'offline install' version of the client which does not require this connectivity back to Apple.com?

The package which you can download from flexnet(fileconnect) is offline package for install.
