    Can you push out the SEP 12.1.6 client to a workstation managed by a SEPM with 12.1.5 installed?

    Yes. The latest version will upgrade right over any previous version:

    Upgrade or migrate to Symantec Endpoint Protection 12.1.6

    In addition, any 12.1 version of SEPM will manage any 12.1 client, including a higher version that the SEPM, although it is always best practice to be on the same version for both client and SEPM.

    Yes you can have able to manage the and deploy the SEP client 12.1.6 from SEPM 12.1.5

    Best Recommend is to upgrade the version.

    Download the latest client package from file connect and add in server then deploy the package on client

     

    Manually import client packages into Endpoint Protection Manager

    Yes From Symantec Endpoint Protection Manager 12.1.5 we can add SEP 12.1.6 client packages and same can be used for push deployment.

    Even we can manage SEP 12.1.6 Client from any version of  SEPM 12.1.

    --> Yes, it's possible but Symantec recommends to keep SEPM and SEP clients on the same version.

    Actually you should consider to upgrade the SEPM first.

    Hi,

    If we are managing 12.1.6 clients in SEPM 12.1.5 how will the live update functionality works in this case? do i need configure a seperate update policy and anything else need to be carried out.

    No need to configure a separate update policy, everything should work as expected.
