  • 1.  SEP and Adobe CS 5.5

    Posted May 11, 2011 02:00 PM

We are unable to install Adobe CS 5.5 on our Macs with SEP installed.  We've tried disabling SEP and still no luck.  Anyone have this problem, or know of a quicker resolution than uninstalling SEP prior to the install?

    Hello,

Quite Amazing!! Disabling SEP also does not let you uninstall Adobe CS 5.5

This doesn't seem to be issue related to SEP then.

I would request you to try:

Following The Steps provided by Adobe:

    http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/869/cpsid_86915.html

    OR

Run Adobe Creative Suite Cleaner Tool

    http://www.adobe.com/support/contact/cscleanertool.html

    OR

    Contact Adobe.

We are trying to install Adobe CS 5.5  The only way we have been able to successfully install Adobe CS 5.5 on any of our Macs is by uninstalling SEP.

What version of SEP for Mac are you using, and what sort of error do you get?  Are there any useful messages in console?

I have to admit I have CS5.5 and SEP running, but I installed SEP after CS5.5 so I was completely unaware of such an issue existing.

Any indication of error messages in the OS's install.log while installing CS5.5?

the log shows a generic "software installation failed...".  Our Mac engineers next thought was "maybe SEP is causing the problem" so they removed SEP from the system, and Adobe CS 5.5 installs fine...

That's pretty much what I know, thanks for all the input so far though, I am bouncing all of this off of my Mac Engineer internally.

Very curious--I can't think of what SEP might be installing that would prevent Adobe... the only shared files I can even remotely think of that we use are ones associated with the Stuffit Engine.
