SEP and DFS Replication

Created: 26 Jul 2012 • Updated: 10 Sep 2012 | 2 comments
This issue has been solved. See solution.

Our organization currently uses SEP 11.0. We are looking into configuring DFS replication and wondering if Symantec has any official documentation or guides regarding DFS replication and Symantec in the same work environment.

Thanks

Thumbs up to Jackie007.

Have a look at this KB as well

Best Practices for Installing Symantec Endpoint Protection (SEP) on Windows Servers

From MS KB http://support.microsoft.com/kb/822158 (Virus scanning recommendations for Enterprise computers that are running currently supported versions of Windows)

Turn off scanning of DFS files

The same resources that are excluded for a SYSVOL replica set must also be excluded when FRS or DFSR is used to replicate shares that are mapped to the DFS root and link targets on Windows Server 2008 R2-based, Windows Server 2008-based, Windows Server 2003-based, or Windows 2000-based member computers or domain controllers.
