  • 1.  SEP and VMWare ACE Problems

    Has anyone else noticed issues with SEP and VMWare Player/ACE? When I attempt to run a machine on my SEP protected workstation, it takes up to 45 minutes to load. Loading the same machine on a SAV workstation takes just seconds. 

    Any ideas?

    What SEP 11 features are you running on the client? What version of SEP are you running? Is this the beta version of VMware AC?

    SEP 11 RU5 

    • Windows XP SP3
    • All features including App and Device control (Though no Device control functionality is enabled, only App control for rogue AV)
    • Managed Install

    Nothing relevant is showing in the Control log either.

    The PocketAce run.exe binary is Version 7.0.0.9911. I can't get the version of the app itself as the VM is completely unusable.

    Are you trying to run the application from a flash drive, or portable hard drive? You might try testing with Application control turned off. That feature does not exsit in SAV,and may be the cause of your issue.

    I'll try nuking App control and see how it goes. I'm running the VM from a portable HD (USB 2.0)
