I have SEP installed on a client which has a 3rd party program that needs to send out a daily email. When the program sends the email it is blocked by SEP "sep email proxy error 1003 8" I first added the program as an exceptions with the same result. I have modified the install of SEP and removed the email protection as a "Work Around". I am looking for a better solution as I would like to use the email protection feature.

Thanks for the reply but I have reviewed all three of those posts and that is what lead me to uninstall the email protection feature. I do not believe it is a connection issue in any way. The clients Outlook has no problems sending mail and I have Backup Exec setup on the server sending mail the same way with no problems (basic proteciton only on the server).
HI,
What Sep feature are installed ?
If NTP feature are installed try to disable.
Full client install, so all available features. Not sure what NTP is? Network Threat Protection? Which would be Network Intrusion Prevention?
Yes, try to disabled and checked working or not
Otherwise follow SEPM artical.
may be also worth checking with isp.
