This issue has been solved. See solution.

Can anyone confirm that when a file or folder is added to the centralized exception policy, does the file/folder still get scanned but ignored if there is a virus on/inside it - OR - does the file/folder get ignored completely when the action is set to IGNORE/LOG?

Hello ThaveshinP,

When you exclude any files or folder from centralized exception policy it is only exclude from realtime scan, but at the time of schedule scan all the files and folder will be scaned including this.

It depends on the options you set in the console when creating the exception.

You can set it to exclude all scans, auto-protect, or scheduled and on-demand.

Hi Brian.

Are you talking about a SEP 12 feature there?

I can't see it in our SEP 11 deployment & I'd have to switch netowrks to verify if this available for SEP 12.

Hi Ian,

Yes, sorry, my comment was regarding 12.1. I noticed after I posted that this thread is geared towards SEP 11.x

We using SEP 11Ru7mp2 but going to upgrade to SEP 12.x.

Is there any other way to set it not scan at all on SEP 11.x?
