    Hi,

I have problem with sep client 12.1.2 and audit software for inventory.

The audit of computer hardware and software inventory scan will automatically trigger the SEP and the computer freezes for 30 min. Exception to the application does not work and the process does not do.

    Thank you

Do you mean the option to keep track of all applications that run on the machine?

Or are you using an application to do inventory and the SEP client is causing slowness?

Did you try exlcuding the working directories, not just the install directory?

I think program for hardware and software inventory. Each week  do audit scan software and hardware.
Example Altiris Inventory Solution. Search the entire disk, application, EXE and DLL files ....

So usually there is the install directory as well as the working directory from which logs are stored and things of that nature. You will need to exclude this as well. I would check with the applications website to see if they have a best practice for antivirus and exlcusions.

    try it and write.

I'm just afraid that if audit scans everything on the disk, so that does not help, because sep client and its auto-protect control all file if access or modify.

create a key NoFileMod in the registry. should be similar to this below article

Symantec Endpoint Protection scan causes incremental backup jobs to perform a full backup
