  • 1.  SEP Client cannot Connect to LUA

    Hi I hope someone can help me. i just finished installing my LUA version 2.3.4.16 to Windows Server 2008

    i also followed this video http://www.symantec.com/connect/videos/install-lua-live-update-administrator-and-configure-symantec-endpoint-protection

    but upon running liveupdate to my still my SEP client 12.1. RU6 it says that 

    "Failed to connect to the Liveupdate Server"

    Did i miss something or do i need to configure anything? 

    It is not accessible by other computer in the same network using both Hostname & IP Address

    • http://<hostname>:7070/lua
    • http://<IP address>:7070/lua

    Did you ensure you configured it in the policy as well?

    have you properly configured the LUA address in SEPM for client's live update settings policy ?

    Yes i already configure it. Also my LUA it is not accessible by other computer in the same network. 

    LUA can also be accessed by opening a Web browser on a computer in the same netowrk as the LUA server and navigating to the address, port number and directory name of the LUA Web site, for example:
    • http://<hostname>:7070/lua
    • http://<IP address>:7070/lua

    by anychance is there a firewall between your LUA and clients ?

    Thanks PraveenAyapan. The Problem is just the Firewall of my Windows 2008 Server

    Hi, Pls. help me,

    I am not able to reinstall SYMANTEC ENDPOINT PROTECTION SMALL BUSINESS EDITION SMB 12.0 AP CD 10 USER BNDL BUSINESS PACK on Windows 7, EARLIER THE SAME WAS DOING WELL, UPDATES WERE NOT HAPPENING, SO THOUGHT OF REINSTALLING THE SOFTWARE, PLS. FIND THE SCREEN SHOT ENCLOSED FOR YOU REFERENCE.

    Post the SEP_INST.log and SIS_INST.log files for review.

    Hi,

    I think you should create a new Thread to make it vissible to all, by the way.

    Do you stop the Symantec Services before you reinstall the software( ? Please see attached picture for your reference or you can follow the below link. I hope it will help you

    Stop the following services

    1. Symantec Embedded Database

    2. Symantec Endpoint Protection Launcher

    3. Symantec Endpoint Protection Manager

    4. Symantec Endpoint Protection Manager Webserver
