  • 1.  SEP client not showing any status.......

    Hi guys,

    I have installed a RU6 SEP client in one of my client machine it got installed correctly,but then also it is not showing any details in Help&Support->troubleshooting....

    i tried reinstallation by wiping out using Cleanwipe tool....then also no use.......Before it was MR3 ,as per TAC i tried with RU6 no use......

    OS:win2K SP4 server with 2GB RAM, its an applicaion server some ASP applicaton is ruuning on that.........

    But in the console its showing green dot with some old dated definition.

    Guys Please Help me out................

    can you post the screen shot of help and support?

    have you tried replacing the sylinK?

    Check the permission

    Go through the DCOM permission as per this document

    do you mean all the details are blank?

    did you try running the sepsupport tool and check for the errors?

    Please paste the sylinklog from the machine

    Use sylink toogle for  that ,,

    Try by rebooting once.If not helps pls provide us a screen shot of the problem...

    Sorry guys it was not a proper solution.......

    After that also its not taking latest updates from SEPM server.But its communicating with SEPM server.Its getting latest policy updates,not updates.

     

    Please help me out if any one face the issue before.Its totally strange........

     

    And the senior TAC is working on that....................

    Hi guys sorry for the late reply......

     

    It was due to some corrupted files,

    sylink.xml

    sylink.bak

    serdef.dat.bak

    serdef.dat

    As discussed with TAC first deleted these files,and deleted the sylink registry entry.

    after that repaired the SEP client...

    After all these activities it found it is working fine.It showing all details now......

    If you have IE9 installed; uninstall it.

    @rafeeq: No,IE6 is running on that. and apart from its Win2000 server.

    If you try to update manually using intelligent updater (exe file) whether the client is getting updated?

    It is working fine after replacing the serdef file.
    However, it is not possible to replace the serdef file for 1000 clients.

    Symantec is unable to give me a explaination on why it failed in the first place.
