  • 1.  SEP Client Shows the hidden files

    Posted May 02, 2009 03:47 AM
    I know I know I know!
Yes, I know my question has been asked previously, but I really couldn't find the topic!

    SEE:
After installing the SEP Client, it selects the Show Hidden Files and removes the check mark of the Hide System Files.
So it should be reversed to the default mode manually which consumes lots of time and energy.

PLEASE HELP ME! How can I deactivate this?

    Hi Farzard,

Are you using SEP 11 MR4MP1a version? This is the latest version of the SEP 11.
If your using this version, kindly update and run full scan on safe mode on the affected system.

I think your computer is infected with virus.

    Thanks,

    jun

Since maybe a virus has already infected your system you need to manually restore the hidden files options on explorer

You have to go to Regedit and look for this value

    User Key: [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\
    Advanced]
    Value Name: Hidden
    Data Type: REG_DWORD (DWORD Value)
Value Data: (1 = show hidden, 2 = do not show)

In any case you have problems accessing your registry, or registry/commandline editing tools have been disabled, please go to this link
