  • 1.  SEP Client Update: No Progress Bar

So we are testing a Symantec upgrade to MP2 by sending an upgrade to clients via SEPM's native functionality. It's all working great, however, there's NO indication of when the client upgrade process starts and when it ends. Client gets a pop-up asking to download or postpone the upgrade initially, but after that the only indication that upgrade is in progress is increased network and disk activity and SEP client icon disappearing from the tray. There's also no indication that upgrade completed successfully.
I can't think that Symantec would not include something like this in their upgrade path, so it must be something stupid we're missing. Can anyone point me to right direction?
    Thank you!

    Hi,

There is a different way of monitoring the upgrade at the client end in end point protection. I am attaching a screen shot for your reference. Please revert in case you require further assistance.

    Sandip,
Thank you for your help. My concern is not me being able to see the status of upgrade, but the end user not seeing it. I'm affraid without any process indicator, there may be a chance when someone turns off their machine half-way through the upgrade process (since it's silent) and who knows what problems this may cause.
Do you know if there really is no process indicator available for upgrade? I thought it was something I missied somewhere..

Have you tried adding clients with the installation type as "Interactive"?

    Hi,
This option is only available when you do a client installer export to an EXE. This is not an option, unforunately, for a group update to the latest version.
