I have a new server install and had it all configured and working well.
Server is Win2k3 sp1.. and Sep ver 11 backend..

The server was on a schedule to update itself through Liveupdate and it did that well.. and the clients were all getting the updates until several weeks ago....

The server was running several other apps and it slowly ran out of space and crapped it's pants..
One other thing I tried was to move the data for SEP to the 2nd partition... at first I tried this using RDP,
then remembered SEP doesn't like RDP.. I reran it logged into the console..
Interesting note that the config didn't move the DATABASE file.. only the other files..
so much for that..

anyways... space was made , logs were moved/deleted and now the clients wont update automatically.

I can fudge with the policy all I want ... and change settings... and the clients respond to that..
for instance, if I change the policy on the server to allow the clients to run Liveupdate manually,
the change takes place and I can run Liveupdate manually on a client pc, and that works..

so that tells me the server is farming out the policy updates to the clients etc.. and the local install is functioning.

but as soon as I put the policy on the server to make sure the clients update via the local control server (parent)
none of them update... not one...

Help...

same subject matter .. slightly different manifestation of not updating. Clients always seem to be one or two revision updates behind.  Even if I send an update command.  I am using the pull method (XP SEPM Server)and it is set at 3 hours (which improved the situation). Surely that is enough time to d/l current revision.  Anyone have any thoughts?  This is not a serious problem, but a day one outbreak could cause me issues.
