  • 1.  SEP Clients not updating from RU5 to RU6

    Hi,

    I have a couple of clients not updating from 11.0.5002.333 to 11.0.6005.562.

     

    What I did so far:

    • created an update group
    • moved all clients to the update group
    • half the clients updated
    • moved back updated clients to their original group

    Where do I start troubleshooting?

    Any help would be greatly appreciated!

    If your clients are updating, than it's already a good sign.

    how long ago have you placed the "upgrade" package into the install package for the group?

    you should give it a little while (24 hours or so) for all the clients to be updated.

    If you have x64 clients in there as well as 32 bit clients, you would need to have both intall packages there.

    The interval for the client connectivity is random, so it could take some time.  You can send a command to the group to "update content" might help push things along, as that almost assuredly force the clients to "check-in".

    Make sure communication setting for this group is set to "Push Mode"

    try running "update content" command on this group first.

    Make sure both your 64 and 32 bit install packages are marked as available under the group.  Also if they are laptops, give them some time as they may not be currently connected to the network.  Furthermore, ensure that all the clients are "green" in Sep showing that there is connectivity otherwise they could be off as well.

    Thank you so far,

    the "update content" command seems to have no affect in my case. Half the clients almost instantly updated when I moved them to the update group. 6 hours later the other half is still not updating.

    So I'll give them a little bit more time and will report back later.

    If the machine is not getting updated , reboot the machine
