Hi
While i am upgrading SEP Clients i have to choose if 32 or 64 but i have more than 3000 users and almost 50 groups which no way to remember the OS for each group, any clue.
Thanks
You can assign a 32-bit and 64-bit package to the same group when you do an auto-upgrade and both clients will automatically upgrade.
Upgrade clients to SEP 12.1 by Auto upgrade feature
https://www-secure.symantec.com/connect/articles/upgrade-clients-sep-121-auto-upgrade-feature
The AutoUpgrade process lets you automatically upgrade the Symantec Endpoint Protection client software for all the clients that are contained in a group.
How to upgrade Symantec Endpoint Protection clients using the Auto-Upgrade feature
http://www.symantec.com/business/support/index?page=content&id=TECH96789
You can assign the package for auto upgrade feature
This auto upgrade feature can only be upgrade the manage/online client
Other clients will be upgrade with Client Deployment Wizard.
I have so many servers which i want to upgrade them with Auto Upgrade feature without let the server restart after the upgrade which that may cause a disaster for us, so how can i upgrade with manual restart after the upgrade???
You can upgrade the server clients manually not from Auto upgrade feature and will take the confirmation from management.
No way, i have about 500 servers (Virtual+Physical)
In SEP 11.x to SEP 12.x upgrade restart required.
In SEP 12.x to SEP 12.1.4 mp1 no reboot required.
You can create non restart SEP client package and than upgrade using auto upgrade feature.
In your package, just set it to not restart
Under Admin >> Client Install Settings
Select your package and edit it, there is a restart settings tab, choose "No Restart"
James, in SEP 12.x to SEP 12.1.4 mp1 reboot was required, when i did not check the hosts after the upgrade they restarted automatic whcih it was so dangerious.
Have you configured in SEP package reboot setting ?
See below articles and create non restart setting.
https://www-secure.symantec.com/connect/articles/how-do-i-create-and-configure-custom-symantec-endpoint-protection-installation-package-vers
