SEP conflit with VB6

Created: 06 Mar 2014 | 8 comments

Hi,

When SEP 12 was installed, VB6 can't be installed in Windows 7. In the VB6 installation procress, it will ask to update latest Windows service pack but must be failure to install. Finally, VB6 installation failed.

Tested if no SEP, VB6 insllation is smoothly completed.

Please suggest how to fix, since most PC was insllated SEP. We don't want to re-install all PC.

Thanks

Is anything showing in the security or risk log? Have you added any exceptions for the program?

Hi _Brian,

There is no security risk or risk log shown and nothing was detected by SEP.

Were any exceptions put in place? Also, what SEP components are being used?

Try excluding the VB6 program directory from scanning.

Hi _Brian,

Attached my situation for reference.

After excluded installation folder from SONAR, it can install.

Yes, can be installed after excluded. What's the problem ??

Otherwise, VB sp6 also can't be installed even excluded.

Thanks
