  • 1.  SEP definition update time

    Dear Team ,

    I have a small concern regarding SEP definition update . I had schedule it in the Night time 10:00pm will that work or let me know what time Symantec upload the definition patch update on webserver as per IST .

    Hello Zubair,

    Are these clients Managed / Unmanaged??

    In case, UnManaged and you have scheduled these clients to download the Liveupdate at Night 10 pm, then they would connect to internet at 10.pm and they would get updates. (ofcourse the machines have to be ON)

    Incase, they are Managed, it completely depends on the LiveUpdate Policy you have configured on the SEPM. Usually, the SEP clients would connect to the SEPM at 10.pm and check for updates at 10 pm.  (ofcourse the machines have to be ON)

    HI Mithun ,

    My clients log in at 9:00 am in the morning and log off at 7:00 pm . In that case what time is prefrebale to get my clients update with the latest definition and they should sync with teh same version which is released by Symantec . Should we configured LUA to downaload at 10:00 pm in the night to get update or evening 5:00 pm .

    Please suggest .
