Hello all , I hope everyone is doing good . I am in the middle of SEP design for one my customers and would be really greatful if you can answer my following

querie. I need to know that whether SEP has the support for the following features:

 

1. Provide WSUS feature ( if Symantec doesn't then any competitor providing in their antivirus solution ? )
    
2. Provide license management feature of third party solution
    
3. Provide image deployment feature
    
4. Provide file, full disk and removable disk encryption through the deplpoyed agent ( if Symantec doesn't then any competitor providing in their antivirus solution ? )
    
5. Virtual machine recognition for further load optimization with several virtual nachine running on a single host
    
6. Support for Novel as OS

1. Provide WSUS feature ( if Symantec doesn't then any competitor providing in their antivirus solution ? )  Yes SEPM are supported WSUS and SCCM but not provide WSUS feature.
2. Provide license management feature of third party solution -> No SEPM not provide license management feature  of third party solution, Symantec Altiris product are provided that feature.
3. Provide image deployment feature -> SEPM not provided that feature ,You can use different symantec product like Altiirs
4. Provide file, full disk and removable disk encryption through the deplpoyed agent ( if Symantec doesn't then any competitor providing in their antivirus solution ? ) -> SEPM not provided that feature ,You can use different symantec product.Here is symantec encryption family ->http://www.symantec.com/encryption

-> Symantec endpoint protection No, System center endpoint protection uses WSUS for definition updates ( SCCM 2012)

-> Symantec endpoint protection NO, Altiris / SCCM 2012 does

-> Symantec endpoint protectio No , Altiris / SCCM 2012 Does

-> SEP Does have randomiztion option.
 
Support for Novel as OS

-> Novel still exists? :) What kind of support for Novel? AV, encryption?

Most of these are out of scope for SEPM and you need to look to other products, which Symantec has.

Hello all thanks for your replies . I have done some reseatch kindly confirm about the following.

 

1. we can't deploy SEP to the endpoint using WSUS like we deploy it through SCCM ?

You can deploy by Clone but you can follow process as per artciles for removing HWD ID.

Yes you can deploy to wsus endpoint If u clone a machine all programs will be loaded.. Just follow the document to remove HWID
