I have faced this problem in 2 machines already in 2 days.

Sep icon in the task bar goes out and comes back again very frequently. and the network connection for that period goes out. unable to use network share and other network servers for that period.

I restarted the pc but the same thing happens. so i removed sep and reinstalled it again which did solved the problem for now but this happened in 2 machines so I want to know what could be the problem.

sep version is 11.0.4000.2295.

if this wil happen to all machines then it will be a big trouble for me.

Hi Bijay, I strongly suggest

Hi Bijay,

I strongly suggest you upgrade to the latest version. As the latest build is targetting the existing issues and performance improvization for the clients.

Best,
Aniket

I think, you should keep an

I think, you should keep an eye on Symantec Management Client service and SMCGui.exe in task manager. It is responsible for showing or not showing the shield icon in system tray.

If that service is experiencing any issues, this can happen.

Best,
Aniket

I think you can try to repair

I think you can try to repair the SEP client installed on the machine. Let us know if that helps.

If you want to troubleshoot further, I would suggest to enable debug logging on the client from the SEP client interface and provide the logs to the tech support team so that they can analyze this. But still, troubleshooting a build that is 2 versions behind the latest version does not seem to such a bright idea.

Best,
Aniket
