This issue has been solved. See solution.

Hi Guys!

Can someone help me what to check and to do before installing SEP on client stations? I'm planning to install SEP on about 100 client stations, of course manage by single server. The server is the Endpoint Protection Manager and also where the database is placed. Well, for the mean time these are all I know, please feel free if you something to ask if you have something in mind. Many thanks!

SEP Implementation

For Implementation you can check the doc in my Signature TOP Symantec Articles and for deployment
read this document on things to check on the client for remote Deployment
and also check the ports used in SEP 11

Error: "No Network Provider accepted given the network path"

http://service1.symantec.com/support/ent-security....

Since you have 100 clients then you should go for Default embedded database that comes with SEPM and this will be locally installed on the server with SEPM Console.

See the installation guide

Hi,

I'd like to write anything useful for you in this post but I could forget something, for this reason I suggest you to read the CD1\documentation\installation_guide.pdf file, section 1.

First of all You have to

First of all You have to install sepm server. for that I would suggest you to use windows 2k3sp2 server rather than using windowsxp on the server.

for clients  check whether any onther antivirus is installed or not if yes then uninstall it.then update the windows on client.

then you can deploy sep on client.

A Thumbs up for both Vkram

A Thumbs up for both Vkram and Giuseppe. I'd recommend that you follow what they've said, and also in addition to this make sure that all your systems are patched with the latest OS patches before you start the Migration / Installation process.

This may seem a bit odd, but it helps to be safe from known worms / threats going around on the net and the small window during the SEP installation process during which the system is exposed to possible exploit from threat(s).

Re

You could use the SEP_Support Tool and check for System Requirements to check if possible to install SEP.

In our company, we did a test environment and a test pc for every department. to check if it will run smoothly.

I would say familiarize

I would say familiarize yourself with these forums and some of the common issues regarding the Home, Reporting and Monitors tabs. Most are easily recognizable if not avoidable if you prepare.

Re

I also suggest to create a test environment first for SEP and clients.
