This issue has been solved. See solution.

Greetings All,

We are attempting to install SEP RU6 on couple of our Windows 2003 SP2 32-bit servers and the wizard stops with an interuption. The following is the error on the SEP_INST.log. Kindly see if we can be helped.

############

LUCA: InstallLiveUpdate enter.
LUCA: C:\DOCUME~1\xjso370\Local Settings\Temp\SZRZUDZU\LiveUpdate\lucheck.exe
LUCA: InstallLiveUpdate : CreateProcessAndWait( LUCHECK.EXE ) returned 2088934857
Action ended 8:27:37: InstallFinalize. Return value 3.
LUCA: UnInstallLiveUpdate enter.
LUCA: C:\DOCUME~1\xjso370\Local Settings\Temp\SZRZUDZU\LiveUpdate\lucheck.exe
LUCA: UnInstallLiveUpdate exit.

#############

Steps we tried:

Cleared all folders of LU

Installed LU initialy and tried the SEP instal. Still fails

Checked Dcoms, cleared LU files and folders, installed SEP. Still fails

Questions and suggestions are welcomed.

You can use Clean Wipe after you can install SEP..

Install fails with "CreateProcessAndWait( LUCHECK.EXE ) returned 206" in the install log

Hello,

I would suggest you to work on the steps provided in the Article below:

Symantec Endpoint Protection Client (SEP) installation fails and rolls back. Install log shows "( LUCHECK.EXE ) returned 206"

http://www.symantec.com/docs/TECH96534

Hope that helps!!

Hi Gents,

Apologies for the delay. The solutions mentioned is for a '206' error where LU fails to get install. We have a '208' where LU is able to get installed well and good. Just that it is not letting it to integrate it with the SEP.

It turned out to be a software restriction via GPO. We had a sucessful install with a different account which is part of the same AD group. Even TestSec logs have the same entries, so need to granularise the exact template.

Once again thank you all for the effort.
