SEP install on Vista with redirected documents folder failure

When trying to install a managed 11.0.3001.2224 client to a Windows Vista Business SP1 PC with the documents folder redirected to a network share the installation fails with an error that the u:\ drive (network share) is not accessible.  I have full administrative access to that share.  The installation works if the documents folder path is restored to the default folder on the local drive.  Hopefully there is a better solution for this since we redirect all our users documents folder to their home drive which they have full access to and I'm not looking forward to having to do this on all our PCs.  There is no problem on Windows XP PCs.

Thanks for any info or suggestions.
