  • 1.  SEP installation over RDP

    Posted Jan 26, 2011 01:45 PM

    Hi

I think i've read somewhere that SEP with NTP shouldn't be installed and/or repaired over RDP (even in console mode).
I know cleanwipe screws the computer if used over RDP because rdp stops the teefer driver to unload. Will this also be a problem if trying to install or repair SEP with NTP over RDP?

Does anyone have any experience with this? Feel free to link KB articls, but personal experience is also appreciated:)

    Thank you.

I've read the article, but to be sure It would be nice to hear from your experience. Have any of you experience with installing / removing SEP with NTP using RDP?

NO issues, the one I  had was reporting component issue with Manager, no issues with clients.

remove ntp, it will disconnect network for seconds, then will be back after its removed.

Yes, I have had some issues with loss of remote access to the computer, while removing NTP. Generally, it would first disconenct  RDP session, and would not connect back. We would have to re-install Network drivers.

Having said that, this use to be on older versions of  SEP and alsonot always.

I was fearing what Learn_learn_learn is saying.

    Anyone else experienced the same?

Didn't mean to make you fearful...was just typing from experience....but sep has improved since older  versions, and you can always call support if anything goes wrong...

Don't worry. I'm not fearful;) But it would be nice to don't break the network driver on a client 100miles away with no way of fixing:)

If it's  one of a 1000 it's not a problem. But if it's 50/50 if the network drivers survive a manually SEP installation with NTP over RDP i would rather not do it.

Any one else with experienced advice?
