Endpoint Protection

Hello
I'd like to install Symantec_Endpoint_Protection_11.0.6 onto our windows srever 2003 R2, and the installation cannot be finished.
I downloaded the Symantec Endpoint Protection Support Tool, and run a pre-installation check report, and the tool said:
Errors detected
Error: 1 item

Status	Error
Details	The File and Printer Sharing for Microsoft Networks is not enabled on any of your network adapters.
Tests	Error The File and Printer Sharing for Microsoft Networks is not enabled on the following NICs: HP NC7781 Gigabit Server Adapter #2 192.168.2.144 HP NC7781 Gigabit Server Adapter 192.168.1.143

Of course, the file sharing is enabled on both of the adapters. The server role is a fileserver as well, so the file sharing is OK.


Any suggestions?

Go to run and type %temp% and look for a file SEP_inst.log.attach this file here..

In the log file search for Return value 3

and paste 5 -6 lines before that

Hello,

Any specific reason to have two different IP addresses on two adapters on same server?  Generally on HP servers we have two adapters for failover/loadbalancing with teaming configuration, and a result teaming inferface would have one IP address representing both adapters...

the subnet 2 is for the outer connection for the exchange server via a router.

I shall return tomorrow with the results.

To the Document ID: 2009072709544048:

autoexec.bat and config.sys are bothe empty.

Uninstall Liveupdate and

    Delete C:\Documents and settings\allusers\applicationdata\symantec\liveupdate\

Delete C:\ProgramData\Symantec



and then try to install SEP

By the way a don't want to install the Symantec Endpoint Protection Client (SEP),
it's about be the management server install...

a little bit better, but the install rollbacked again.

The SEPM_INST.LOG says:

SESM CA: Failure in IIsConfig.vbs script - See the Windows Event Viewer application log for the failure event.

And the Event log (Application):

IISConfig.vbs error( 6 ) - Error ( -6 ) returned from executing cacls.exe.

Any idea?

Reinstall IIS and try to install once again...

I have a test Sharepoint Service 2.0 installed as well, do I have to reinstall this too?

Remove share point,Reinstall IIS,install SEPM and see it is getting installed..

Removed SP, reinstalled IIS, Installing SEPM,
the same rollback error and Eventlog error

Can you provide us new full log file?What are the other applications present in that computer?Among that any software will use Java or IIS?

You unintall both JRE 6 update 20 and MS Script 5.7.reboot the server and try to install SEPM..

Here is the full log...

Installed apps (nothing extra):

JRE 6 update 20

HP Proliant Management tools
Symantec Live Update 3.3
Windows Server 2003 Service Pack 2
IE8

No installed apps using Java nor IIS using Sharepoint...

We have about 100 clients, which installation (Simple or Advanced) should I prefer?
