  • 1.  SEP - Licencing

    Hello,

I downloaded Symantect Protection Suite SBE and deployed SEP 12 to client computers before I received my licence file. This gives you the evaluation licence. I then received my licence file and added it to Symantect Protection Center. SPC now shows the licence expires in 3 years time, but all SEP clients still show there licence expiring at the end of the evaluation period. Why are the client computers not updating their licence?

    Just some further inforamtion:
     - I deployed via Custom Install.
     - I have waited more than 24 hours for licence to update on clients.
     - Licence status on SPC is "Good" (no over deployment).

    Regards,
    Justin

    Hi Justin,

Please make sure that you have updated the policy on all the clients and the policy serial number is matching as well.

You can try and do one thing, make a copy of the slf file and open the copy [ not the original, as it will corupt the original file ].

See i the expiration date matches with the one given in the console.

    Aniket,

Which policy are you referring to? I had a look at the policies in SPC and don't see anything to do with licencing.

    Justin

    Hi,

The updated policies will make sure that the clients have received the latest licensing information.

You can also do an experiment, delete one cient. See if the licensing information is getting updated. Then do an update policy from that client. This will force a re-registration and the client will receive the licensing information as well.

    Hi,

I deleted one client. The licence count never dropped. I then went back to the group where I deleted the client and the client was back. I created a new update policy and assigned that to the group as well. None of this fixed the licence date on the clients.

Repair one client from add/remove programs and see any difference is present....

I created a new group and transferred all clients to that group. I then assigned the policies to the new group and that seems to have fixed it.
