    Hi all.

    I have the following scenario:

1 MS Terminal Server + Citrix XenApp

    20 MSTS CAL

    20 Citrix User License

10 Desktop (with a different AV from a different vendor)

    5 Desktop with no AV

    5 Thin Client

Which is the correct licensing SEP solution?

    Solution 1

1 SEP License for the MSTS / Citrix XenApp Server

5 SEP licenses for the 5 desktops with no AV

    Solution 2

1 SEP License for the MSTS / Citrix XenApp Server

20 SEP License, one for each user accessing the MSTS / Citrix XenApp server.
This 20 licenses cover the 5 desktops with no AV

    Solution 3

1 SEP License for the MSTS / Citrix XenApp Server

20 SEP License, one for each user accessing the MSTS / Citrix XenApp server

5 SEP licenses for the 5 desktops with no AV

    Other solution?

    Thanks

    Enrico

Basically, you need a SEP license for every client that it will be installed on. How many machines will you be installing SEP on?

I echo Brian. Even on Terminal server conneciton. You can count one connection as one User Licence.

Similarly number of users equal to number of seats.

    Hi,

Thank you for posting in Symantec community.

I would be glad to answer your query.

You should buy Enterprise Edition of SEP. SEP 12.1 RU3 is the latest Enterprise Edition by Symantec.

How many License Seats are used in the following environment:

    • 5 Computers
    • 10 Users sharing these 5 Computers
    • Symantec Endpoint Protection 12.1 Clients are configured to be in User Mode
In the above environment, a 5 Seat License is required.

Seat count is based on number of Computers, not on Users or User Mode
