I can imagine that "Location Awareness" can be a really interesting feature in Symantec Endpoint Protection 12.1 environments. Can you tell me some examples for what it can be used for?

I can add like, you may not want USB be to be used in LAN while in different location you are allowed to use it.

Tech Article 104571 & 94265 are helpful to answer the question, because they give examples.

Here is some of my experience

• Laptops update definitions from internet directly when off-site
• Laptops have tighter firewall rules when off-site
• Source of LiveUpdate server / GUPs based on location in the corp LAN so that updates are not pulled across the WAN
• Differentiate between VPN & LAN connections
• Allow end users to manage SEP client on the end point, basically allow admin / non-admin usage model for SEP client
