windows 2000 server machine.

symantec endpoint protection manager service stops.

in the application event log:

event id 4096: The Java Virtual Machine has exited with a code of -1, the service is being stopped.

in the system event log:

source: w3svc

event id: 36

The server failed to load application '/LM/W3SVC/1/ROOT/secars'. The error was 'Class not registered'.

in scm-server-0.log:

Unknown Exception in: com.sygate.scm.server.servlet.StartupServlet

500 http codes can be a symptom of the IIS config or permissions being incorrect. One possible solution can be to follow the steps below:

Enable the user account :

IWAM_<name_of_server>

Or

IUSR_<name_of_server>

Those accounts must be active.

Also, if you open a local web browser and go to the URL http://localhost/reporting, can you connect ok? Do you get prompted for login credentials?
