    I am trying to view the scan logs in the SEP Manager and I get the following error:

    This query could not be processed for one of the following reasons:

    1. The database query timed out. Try reducing the number of filters, or increasing the SQL Server query timeout value.

    2. An unexpected error occurred. Try running the query again by using default filter values.

    3. String encoding was possibly not UTF-8, and may result from copying and pasting data instead of typing data. Try typing data in the input fields.

    Does anyone know why I am getting this error when viewing the scan logs?

    This doesnt happe when I try to view every log.

    Some back ground:

    Version 11.0.6200.754 with imbedded database.

    Thanks for your help in advance.

    Hello,

    This issue seems to be resolved in the SEP version 11.0.RU6 MP1 and above.

    I would recommend you to migrate to the Latest version of SEP 11.0.RU7 / RU7 MP1 and then to SEP 11.0. RU7 MP2

    Again, this happens that for some reason when the database is not upgraded during the migration from a previous version . In that case go to

    \Program Files\Symantec\Symantec Endpoint Protection Manager\bin  (substitute Program Files (x86) in this path if working on a 64 bit system ) and run upgrade.bat then repair the SEP  manager installation through Control Panel - Add / Remove programs.

    Also check these Articles:

    SAV Reporting Server or SEPM Reporting does not respond or shows a timeout error message when querying large amounts of data

    Hope this works for you!!

    What is the hardware configuration of the server?

    Try by selecting logs for a smaller period..

    Hi,

    Try following steps

    1. Check the ODBC connection
    2. If the ODBC connection test fails check the below details
    3. Open the ODBC
    4. Click on the "Login" and check if the DBA userid and password exist. If not put the userid "DBA" and the password.
    5. Check the php.ini in C:\program files\Symantec\Symantec Endpoint Protection Manager\Php
    6. Open the php.ini and check the following settings and make sure its off.
    display_errors = Off
    display_startup_errors = Off
