  • 1.  SEP manager will not start when Site Protector manager is running

    Posted Apr 12, 2011 06:36 PM

SEP and Site Protector are installed on a Windows 2003 server box. Before upgrading to SEP there were no issues.

After upgrade, SEP manager will not start when Site Protector manager is running. I turned off the Site protector manager and started the SEP manager however now the Site protector manager will not start.

Sounds like the two Security applications are fighting for control. I would recommend installing SEP on a system not running the Site Protector software. You might try searching IBM support for a solution.

Moving this thread to the Endpoint Protection forum.

Is it possible to run SEPM remotely?  You should be able to install a remote client to a workstation and run SEPM versus running it directly on the server.

Well, it looks like one of the apps will have to run on a different box. I was kinda suprised that the issue arose at all since the SAV never experienced this issue.

    Thank you

    Hi,

Both are security application controllers . Which ports the site proctector is using . If both SEP and Site protector uses same ports . It may give problems . sometimes.
