Is it still happening for you ?

Cause It should be fixed with the MR2 for sure

Symantec Endpoint Protection Outlook Plug-in breaks all Outlook attachments
Fix ID:
1190655
Symptom: Whether the Outlook Plug-in is turned off or on, all Outlook attachments are broken when opened from a computer with Symantec Endpoint Protection client installed.
Solution: Ensured that Outlook attachments can be opened on Symantec Endpoint Protection Clients with Outlook Plug-in installed.

De facto when AV does something, it starts jumping up and down, waving its arms, and shouting "Hey!  I found a virus!  Look at me!  I'm soooo goooood!"

SEP did never break all Outlook attachments in my case, but when you are viewing an email and from the email viewing window, you go to the next email by clicking on the arrow on the very top of the Outlook email viewing window and then you you click on the attachment of the email, Outlook crashes and restarts.

Hi Vmax,

Thank you for sharing this info.

Can you confirm if the issue is fixed or not in the new MR2 release please.

If anyone else is seeing any problems with Outlook 2007 and MR2 can you please share it.

Thank you,

The problem which I describe in the link of the first message of the threat has not been fixed in MR2 for our systems.

If you haven't opened a support ticket with Symantec yet, please do so.  This is a known issue, but more tickets need to be opened with Support so that it will receive a higher priority.

Please ask your support engineer to link your call to defect number: 1222352
