Symantec Endpoint Protection MR4 MP1 Download Removed Due To Network Communication Issue

Symantec has discovered an issue which affects a small number of customers where network communications are affected when trying to launch executables over a UNC path on Symantec Endpoint Protection (SEP) MR4 MP1 clients with Network Threat Protection enabled.  Symantec Endpoint Protection Managers (SEPM) are not affected by this issue.

While we address this issue, we have removed the MR4 MP1 patch from all public facing locations. Symantec strongly recommends that any customers currently migrating to this build wait for the fixed version to be released.

If you have deployed MR4 MP1 to your clients and are experiencing network connectivity issues with Network Threat Protection enabled, please refer to the following document:

If you are not experiencing issues at this time, you do not need to uninstall MR4 MP1.

We anticipate that a replacement build (MR4 MP1a - build number 4014) will be released within the next week.  We will send an additional notification when this build is available.  Managers will not need the upgrade, only client builds are affected.  Customers that have already patched their SEPM with MR4 MP1 (build 4010) can import the client package and deploy it to their clients when it is available.

We apologize for any inconvenience this issue may cause.

Symantec has posted Symantec Endpoint Protection MR4 MP1a (build 4014) to the Platinum Website and FileConnect.  This build resolves the network communication issue identified last week.

Managers do not need to be updated as only client builds were affected by this issue.  Customers that have already patched their SEPM with MR4 MP1 (build 4010) can import the new client package and deploy it to their clients.

For additional information on deploying client packages please refer to the following KB:
