SEP MR5 and Window 7 Pro.
This issue has been solved. See solution.
I have recently bought a new laptop with window 7 pro 64 bit on it, I am in the military and they give us the SEP antivirus to install on personnal pc's. Well I have it on my vista computer and so I down loaded the new version from our web site. I unzipped it and started to install it, it goes fine and then it goes to rolling back action and stops installing. I have tried every thing I could think of. I never had a problem on my on my other computers. I need help....
turned off UAC, windows defender..
SEP rollback
Check the event viewer for any event id's related to the roll back of installation. Check for event ID 11708 and 1033 in Event logs. Download and install Live Update version 3.5 from this ftp site.
ftp://ftp.symantec.com/public/english_us_canada/li...
Once this is done then try the installation again and it sshould go through if the the present installation rolls back at the time when it tries to register the Live update
