I have a WIN XP workstation that will not install the SEP client.  Every time I try to install it is about to complete it performs a roll back.  I have removed all symantec software and still no go.  I enclose the symantec install log.  If anyone can help me out with this it will be greatly appreciated.  Thank you very much for the help.

There is a problem with registering the liveupdate.

Uninstall liveupdate, delete the folder C:\Program Files\Common Files\Symantec Shared\VirusDefs , and the content under C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Symantec\LiveUpdate including the folder downloads. Also delete the folder C:\Program Files\Symantec\LiveUpdate

Try to reinstall again

De facto when AV does something, it starts jumping up and down, waving its arms, and shouting "Hey!  I found a virus!  Look at me!  I'm soooo goooood!"

Check if Event Log is started in Services.msc

1. Check if Event Log is Started and set as automatic  in services.msc. If this service is stopped, then,
2. Download eventlog.dll file and copy it in C:\WINDOWS\system32
3. Start the Event Log services and install SEP11
