Is there a page where we can go to easily identify if the users SEP client versions are up to date?

I know there is http://www.symantec.com/security_response/definitions.jsp but this doesn't give us a page to easily compare the versions on the client.

You mean from SEP client?

You can do it from SEPM by running a computer status report.

There is nothing on the client itself unless you manually check going to Help >> About and looking at the version.

In 12.1.2 a new cosmetic feature was added on the GUI that tells you if your definitions are up to date or not, as you can see in your screenshot.

how these clients gets update? if from SEPm , then you can configure the notification if the clients are outdated.

Brian - I was looking for a way that we could pass a link to a user or deskside as we have such a vast estate that would just give them an easy compare of what they should have on their machine. As we've been migrating users to 12 RU2 getting calls from users saying their defs are out of date hwen they aren't. Ashish - Unfortunatly it's not easy to work out from this what defintions compare the the users client the user should have. Easy for us that have access to the SEPM but not those that don't. Pete - SEP clients get updates from SPEM and GUPs we already have notifications set for out of date defs but it doesn't stop users from raising a call when they think their defs are out of date.

There no way to do this that I know. You would need to write a script to traverse the registry and pull latest definitions.

A bit confusing ...as the Screenshot provided is for SEP client and you are looking for a feature which is available on SEPM.

So to answer your question.

Yes, you could easily compare the SEP client definitions version are up to date.

You could use the SEPM to compare the definitions from the Home SEPM page (Latest from Symantec) with the Computer Status Logs.  However, there are no such features from the SEP client itself as we find in the SEPM home page.

The SEP client users have to manually compare the definitions dates from the website -

No Mithun I'm looking for an easy view way for users that don't have access to the SEPM to compare to see if their SEP cleint versions are currently up to date.
