SEP Policy Update Question
Created: 26 Feb 2012 | 2 comments
We are running Symantec Endpoint Protection version 12.0.1001.95 on a Microsoft Small Business Server 2003 with 15 client licenses.
The clients are WinXP and Windows 7. They get their updated defintions directly from Symantec, not from our server.
When I make a scanner exception folder policy change at the SEP management console on the server will it automatically be pushed out to the workstations or is there something we have to do to make that happen?
Thanks,
Hal

Hello,
On every Heart Beat Interval, the SEP clients communicate to the SEPM, during this stage the clients receive all updates from SEPM. Updates includes Definition updates, policy changes, logs and others.
However, make sure the ports are opened - check the Article for the same
Which Communications Ports does Symantec Endpoint Protection use

If incase, there is no communication between clients, check this Article : Symantec Endpoint Protection: Troubleshooting Client/Server Connectivity

Hope that helps!!
