  • 1.  SEP refuses to let go of user registry hives

I've been plagues by this issue for some time now.

I keep noticing on our XenApp 7.9 servers running Windows Server 2012 R2 under HKEY_USERS everyone's registry hives are still mounted even though everyone has logged off long ago.

If I run SMC -Stop the stuck user hives disappear.

It also seems like this doesn't seem to happen when the Symantec registy key LaunchSmcGui is still set to "1"

For XenApp I need to set LaunchSmcGui to "0" for seamless applications to exit properly.

    We're running SEP 12.1.7004.6500

May need to get a support case opened. If you've followed the best practice and this is still occurring then somethimg may have changed with the latest version.

    Hi,

In SEP 12.1.5 (12.1 RU5) and newer on 64-bit systems, LaunchSmcGui and most other SMC keys and values have moved to Wow6432Node:

As per article TECH91070 it looks if you changed  DWORD 1 to DWORD 0 it's working as expected.

Are you looking for any other help?
