Hi,
I have upgrade my SEPM server to SEP RU 5 from MR4 MP2.

I have notised the clients are randomly moves to another client group and manually I need to move back to their original groups.

In MR3 We were badly impacted with this problem. It was fixed in MR4. This is again reappeared in RU5.

So I would like to know if any enterprise are moved on to RU 5 and have the same or any new issue?

SEP RU 5 - Client moves to any group randomly

Dear Haroonkhanz,
There are several client groups as per the geographic location. I have one main group for India and 6 sub groups location wise , again there subgroup Pproject or dept wise.

Dear Arvind,
I know about the tool, I have used the same in MR3 to fix the issue. But that is work around only NOT THE SOLUTION.

Thanks and Best Regards,

@Gagan, Yes !!!!! We have

@Gagan,

Yes !!!!!

We have moved to SEP RU5 & we experienced the same issue what we have faced in MR3.

This issue was fixed in MR4.MP2, again came in SEP RU5.

There is also .NET Framework issue with RU5. If you are a developer your web portal developed in .net framework ver. 2.0 & above will not work.

in event viewer application  logs u will see .net errors.

i had opened a case with Symantec support & they are working in this.

Everyday we use to move around 100 clients from one group to another manually.

Please let us know whether it is a known issue with Symantec SEP MR5???

We also got this issue. Have an opena case with Symantec and Waiting for response. 20% of our clients is in user mode instead of computer mode and therefore in the wrong group and get the wrong policy. With other words, bad situation.

select * from sem_clinet where computer_name='<hostname>'

and check group_id is blank for the client which is moving and let me know the result.

We have had the same issue as

We have had the same issue as well in MR 5
We were told to delete our database and start over.

Not a great solution in my opinion.

Also, we don't use MS SQL so that SQL command won't work if you are on the embedded database (sybase).

Anyone know where the BAT tool is to convert from user mode to computer mode?
