Greetings,

I have RU5 installed on my servers and my clients are on MR4. Is it true that the severs have to be upgraded to RU6 first before I can upgrade the clients to RU6? If there is link that provides this information that would be great!

No, but you should. With every revision update the database schema changes, so you may start to see errors when the clients send their logs, etc. If you are planning to go to RU6MP1, then you MUST migrate to a major build like RU6 or RU6a first since RU6MP1 is a maintenance patch.

IT can manage without any problem; the reason why Manager should be updated is to that you can use the autoupgrade feature which will ease your upgrade

Thanks Ted, I followed your advice on this one and went ahead and upgraded my dev environment to RU6 first before upgrading my test clients.

If you are planning to go to RU6MP1, then you MUST migrate to a major build like RU6 or RU6a first since RU6MP1 is a maintenance patch.

I believe I downloaded the major build from fileconnect because the file was larger then the RU6 download. Whould you agree this is correct? I assuming this download included both the major build of RU6 and MP1? Does anyone know if there is a full build that includes MP1? My SEPM updated correctly and 2 test clients updated from RU5 without any errors.

thats only if you are migrating

fresh install you have mp1 included :)
