I am having problems with User Profiles on a Terminal Server with SEP SBE 12 (version 12.0.122.192)

    The error is
Event ID 1500: DETAIL Insufficient system resources exist to complete the requested service.
Event ID 1508: DETAIL - Insufficient system resources exist to complete the requested service for c:\Documents and Settings\%username%\ntuser.dat

After much reading this seems to be related to End Point however all of the fixes except for Updates have been done without much success.  Registery changes for DisableRTSScheduledScanUpdate = 1, PoolSize Max and all of those registry settings have been added/modified. I have UPHClean installed as per Microsoft's KB.  Still a problem.

I noticed quite a few posts pointing to updaing the MR version, but they all seem to be related to version 11 and not 12.  What else can I do to resolve this headache. I have about 30-40 users logging in daily into our TS boxes. I cannot simply recreate profiles for each of our users, that is unreasonable.

    Please advise,

    Thanks,

I would suggest upgrading to the latest version, SEP 12 RU1 (12.0.1001.95) and test.

RTVScan and UPHClean do not always get along.

It can be helpful to configure UPHClean to ignore RTVScan per the readme.txt for UPHClean, summarized below:

                  Use Regedit and go to:
                  HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\UPHClean\Parameters
Modify the Multi-String value PROCESS_EXCLUSION_LIST and add RTVScan.exe

This basically tells UPHClean to ignore RTVScan when closing a profile.

I added the RTVScan to UPHClean and restarted the service, still having users with "corrupt" profiles. Cannot seem to get access to the update to SEP. Not sure if it is an OE error or that our account does not have permissions (although, we have valid maintainance). Not to add, that will require restarting a TS server during the day (as it only effects one or two users at a time).

After much effort, I figured out how to download the update to SEP. Cannot say Symantec makes the process easy. While you have an download option from this support section, under SEP no files are found. You have to connect via FileConnect to download software (requiring a license key).

I am in process of downloading Symantec_Endpoint_Protection_Small_Business_Edition_12.0.1_AllWin_EN.zip 12.0.1

I assume this will include RU1. Once downloaded, I again, assume that the Protection Center will need to be upgrade first then each of the servers or is the later done automatically after updating the manager server?

I do hope this fixes the problem. As of right now, I have had to redo 10 user profiles because of SEP. Cannot say I am real satisify with my Symantec experience right now....
