  • 1.  SEP scan for threats not working on Windows 7

I just installed SEP11.0.6200.754 on Windows 7 and none of the scans for threats are working.  Install went fine.  Liveupdate was sucessful.  Everything went well until I went to do a scan.  I can't create a new scan or actually do scan for any threats - either active or full scan.  All scans result in "Symantec AV stopped working - windows checking for solution message".

Any clues on how to fix?

Forgot to mention using 64-bit version of software

    It is by design.

Title: 'Symantec Endpoint Protection (SEP) clients on 64-bit Operating System (OS) does not have the "Scan for Virus..." option in context menu'

Not sure why they would design this way but it at least answers my question!

    Thanks again,
