  • 1.  SEP Scans running to a Remote server.

    Hello,

I was just curious on if this could be a possible solution to an issue i have been having.

We are currently running 12.1.5 on a majority of our network. One of our fileservers keeps dropping shares once we enable SEP. Since we have disabled SEP we have not had an issue (truthfully i just think the server is overloaded). Since SEP is disabled the server is vunerable. would it be possible to set up a separate server to run remote scans to our file server shares? would this still possibly overload the fileserver even though the SEP agent is disabled on that server?

This may be a known issue. You may need to disabled deferred scanning. See this thread:

But with that you could build a PC and or server and install a SEP agent on it. The map shares to those drives you need scanned and create custom scans based off that.
